#2023SSCHALLENGE

For 2023 I thought I would mix things up a little and challenge both myself and the mighty Scottish Premiership/Scottish nationals to see if I could have more prize winning success than 2022. Although I operate under the handle "ScotlandSorare" my team name is "Last Resort FC" it's after this cracking boozer (pub) on Mars, good times are guaranteed but it can be expensive a bit of an adventure and sometimes so exciting there makes it hard to breathe. (#reactors) Schwarzenegger's Total Recall is one of my favourite films of all time, that's the reference...

I've actively been playing since February 2021 and seriously playing since May 2021, during that time building my gallery and teams from a total outlay of around £2500 "all in" and now "all back out!" 

During the months of November and December I opted to switch more into Scottish Premiership players for my gallery, I'm a Dundee United supporter (which comes with equal measures of elation and pain) but have been involved in fantasy football - primarily Scotland and the English leagues since 1993/94. I hope my knowledge and fascination with stats on these leagues could perhaps beat the game and compete with all of you at the upper-end of the game regulalry. 

During November and December my prize haul has eclipsed my expectancy ... using Scottish cards. 

I decided on the 27th December 2022 to put my own gallery in the hands of my social media following. Yikes/SMH moment possibly! Running a Twitter poll for 2023 giving people the vote for either using my existing with no restrictions or  using only Scottish born and Scottish Premiership players for a year (in the Euro competitions), yup a year, restrictive or what haha? 

or flip the coin and it could simply be gallery freeeeedom. *Apologies shit Braveheart reference. Anyway 82% of you wanted what my heart wanted but my head did not :) and Scots themed it is.

Silver clouds and all that though as the bonus for me is this challenge along with my Twitter, shared "A View From the Dugout" podcast (with "budget"),  Playsharper line ups and some videos becomes my entire content subject/topic for 2023.

THE CHALLENGE ITSELF 

Ok, so the finer details... The plan is to document the lot, line up's twice a week (probably by video with some narrative) buy and sell logs as I revamp the gallery. Sporadic video progress diaries and of course the web page displaying the entire journey but also ROI numbers. 

TEAMS - THE PLAN

Challenger Europe, Challenger Pro, All-Star,/Threshold and a SR participation of some sort are my main fully Scottish/Prem teams where I feel I can put together 3 or 4 rare teams, 1 "blue" SR and 2 or 3 Limited teams. 

My under 23 team will be 80% Scots (4/5), sadly until a Scottish u23 breaks through, there are no players I can swap into "yet". Gaeten "McCouke" will be between the sticks to allow me to compete. 

The only other competitions I will play are Americas Rare* (love it) and possibly Asia (I played it in 2021 but not in 2022) these comps will NOT be recorded as part of the challenge but may be referenced if I make videos, however, any success here will not be included. 

* When the Euro season ends the Global/All Star team will run with an MLS GK and like the 23's an 80% Scottish theme over the summer (ps: Steve Clarke please cap Jack Elliott)...

WHAT'S NEXT

- Over the next couple of days I'll add some images with squad info

- I'll upload a video of my gallery preperation

- The Twitter poll prizes will be drawn and sent to winners. (Done 1st Jan)
